I would just like to thank God for the ongoing healing of my right knee which has been prayed for by several of your team in recent weeks.  Several months ago I injured my knee in some sport warm up exercises and it then proceeded to get more & more painful.  To the point where walking and even standing were becoming uncomfortable.

However with prayer which included two visits to your team in Plymouth city centre, my knee is now 99% healed.

Steve
In April 2009, a lady received prayer at Ivybridge Healing on the Streets for a man called Steve.  This is the testimony she gave to us in May.

Steve was diagnosed a few months ago with a tumour behind the nose which was causing breathing problems.  As it was the size of a tennis ball, surgery was urgent to save his life.  0n his pre-op visit to the hospital it was discovered that due to the size of the tumour it was pressing against the brain and there had been bleeding which had covered the tumour with blood cells.  Surgery was carried out to remove the blood cells.  His major surgery was scheduled for two days later.  His girlfriend and parents were informed that it was a very difficult operation.  His face would have to be taken in half, he would be scarred, and would come out of surgery with tubes out of every orifice.  Steve was in surgery for six hours.  He was brought back onto the ward accompanied by the surgeon and doctors.  As his girlfriend went towards him she was terrified to look at him, but as she got closer she saw there was not a mark or bruise on his face and no scarring and not one tube!  The surgeon said it had been a miracle.  At the very last moment he had felt an "urge" to take one last look before surgery, the tumour had shrunk and they were able to remove it through his mouth.  He was discharged the next day.  Two days after that we took him out for a meal.  He was totally able to eat everything in front of him for the first time in months, and showed not one single sign of ever being sick.  WHAT AN AWESOME GOD WE SERVE!!!!!

This was never a big thing for me - just an annoying new set of pains, but I felt it was reasonable to ask for prayer from the Healing On The Streets team in Plymouth even though it was fairly minor.  I had prayer on the 14th February (2009) with the team for my hips that rather oddly seemed to get worse as I turned 50.  (Have we some biological clock that clicks over then?) If I sat for too long, getting up would just be 'achy' - and if I sat for too long on a hard chair the bottom of my spine was positively painful in the transition from sitting to standing.  I can now confirm that since that time I haven't had any pain at the base of my spine and my hips no longer give me any sense of being 'achy' - just the normal tired feeling that means a bit of exercise wouldn't come amiss.  Thank you Lord!

For several years I have suffered problems with my back and some periods have been particularly painful.  After a couple of years of being comparatively pain free problems flared up in the autimn of 2008.  I suffered very bad sciatica with pain being very acute in the lower left leg.  After visiting my doctor, a MRI scan revealed a problem in the lower back necessitating surgery to free the nerve to stop the pain.  This was first planned for 8 January 2009 but I was so bent over and the back was so inflamed that the surgeon postponed the operation until February to give the body a chance for the inflammation to decline.  During all this time friends from church and family have prayed and I have had many periods when I have known a measure of healing and Gods blessing.  On 1st February friends visited us at home and told us of their involvement with a group of Christians who pray regularly for anyone with any need in the centre of Plymouth on Saturday mornings.  I first visited this group the next Saturday on 7 February.  At that time apart from being doubled over with the leg pain I was also suffering from mouth ulcers and an unpleasant lump on my spine just above where the surgeon said he was going to operate.  After receiving prayer on the streets I went to the chemist to get some mouthwash for the ulcers but on return to the car discovered all soreness had disappeared.  On return to home I noticed the lump on my spine had diminished and within 48 hours had totally gone.  I went back the following Saturday for more prayer and although I did not receive anything as dramatic as the previous week was able to stand without pain and was more upright.  The planned surgery was rescheduled for Monday 23 February but at the last minute when I was lying just outside theatre and after I was attached to the patient condition monitors the doctor informed me that a postponement was required due to another patient requiring an emergency operation for a brain tumour necessitating the skills of my surgeon.  The surgery was planned for 4 March.  I went back for more prayer on Saturday 28 February and by this time I could walk with little pain and had been able to reduce my Morphine dose by half.  I also received more of Gods blessing and wondered what was going to happen on Wednesday when I was due surgery.  Yesterday I turned up at 7am at the hospital and was shortly seen by an assessment doctor who was quite amazed at my rate of progress.  He pointed out that the numbness I still have in my feet would be unlikely to be cured by surgery and the leg pain had now moved into a place where it was doubtful if surgery would make much improvement.  He suggested I saw the surgeon.  About 30 minutes later I was being asked the same questions by the surgeon and I explained that I had received prayer on the streets of Plymouth.  He, after examining me said that if I had had the surgery 6 weeks previous he would not have expected me to have recovered to the extent I was able to demonstrate today.  He said he was not going to operate and he then discharged me completely.  I still have some discomfort and I am aiming to slowly reduce my Morphine dose over the next few weeks but I am confident that what God has started He will complete.

In August last year God healed me in an amazing way.  I was suffering from a brain tumour which had given me such bad vision, bad balance and bad coordination that I could only go out of the house with a wheeled frame and someone at my side and sometimes I had to go in a wheelchair which I really hated.  In one moment as we sang praise to God in the New Wine summer conference, all of those symptoms disappeared.  God touched me when I wasn't even being prayed for.  I now can walk freely, have even been on a bike ride and I have started work.  One of the mysteries, though, was that my hearing was still bad - nothing in my left ear.  On Saturday at Healing on the streets I sat on one of the chairs and members of the team prayed for me - for my hearing.  On Sunday evening I put my finger in my good ear and realised that I could hear the telly with the "bad" one - 70% better.  Fantastic.  Thanks God, and thanks guys for organising it.
